Hispanic Heritage month is from September 15th to October 15th. It celebrates history, cultures and contributions. For example the community has some people that have greatly contributed to the STEM field. Luis Alvarez was born on June 13, 1911. Luis was a physicist who researched nuclear physics, radars and particle physics. His experiments and discoveries changed the world of nuclear physics and the world. He discovered some radioactive elements decay by orbital electron capture. He also greatly contributed in the creation of the atomic bomb, microwave radar research, microwave radar beacons, radar antennas, radar to locate targets and the first measurement of magnetic movement of a neutron. Luis Alvarez revolutionised radar and worked a lot on it.
