In the product improvement activity, I chose a mug to improve. To enhance a product like this, many features brainstormed and created in order to solve a problem for the consumer. When enhancing something, you have to brainstorm tons of ideas and narrow them down to ones that would be the most useful or most appealing. Documenting and sketching ideas while brainstorming can help significantly later in the process of design. Sketching can give you a rough idea where things are or how things look while designing and can help your group members visualize too. Brainstorming with a group is more efficient than brainstorming by yourself because everyone can have a different perspective and bring important ideas. Overall, this activity taught me about the design and brainstorm process and how to use it while solving problems.
